Frequently Asked Questions

What are some of the minimum requirements to be an intern or fellow?

DC-based internships and fellowships require at least two years of university, while field office roles require a bachelor's degree and cross-cultural experience. Applicants must be 18+ years old. Citizenship requirements vary by local labor laws, and candidates from all countries are welcome.

Are IJM internships/fellowships paid?

As volunteers, interns, and fellows receive a monthly stipend to help defray their expenses related to participating in the program; interns and fellows are not IJM employees.

Does IJM offer part-time internships/fellowships or other kinds of work arrangements?

IJM offers remote part-time and full-time internships and fellowships. Flexible scheduling may be available based on academic requirements.

What should I include in my Statement of Faith?

A statement of faith should describe your Christian faith and how it is relevant to your involvement with IJM. How has your faith inspired you to pursue this opportunity at IJM? What does your faith mean to you and what role does it play in your life? You might consider describing your spiritual disciplines (prayer, study, etc.), your current fellowship or place of worship, or a particularly relevant part of your testimony. This is generally no longer than one page single spaced.

I'm a former intern or fellow seeking verification that I completed my internship/fellowship. Who should I contact?

Former interns and fellows can request verification of their internship or fellowship by contacting [email protected]. Please note that IJM may not be able to verify participation for those who served more than seven years ago.
